[Hannah was 8 years old when she developed JIA.]
As a parent it was very scary
not knowing what was wrong with your child,
Seeing them suffering. Sorry.
Hannah slept basically for 6-1/2 weeks.
Woke once again, didn't eat, was fed through a tube,
had a temperature between 104 and 107 degrees for about 6 weeks,
and we didn't know what was going on.
We just wanted answers, the doctors wanted answers.
Six and a half weeks later, after being in a coma,
the diagnosis was finally made that it was JIA.
[Hanna copes successfully with JIA.]
I think we find alternative was to do pretty much everything really,
so we can still do what everyone wants to do, and I can still be involved in most of it.
>>She's been skiing because she uses her sit ski.
She's flown on plane because it was accessible.
>>I've been lucky enough to represent Great Britain in table tennis.
One of the countries I've been to is Romania, played for Great Britain in a competition there.
In 2010 I got to go to India to represent England in the Commonwealth Games.
That's where I got my shirt, from there,
during which I was looking off to see the Taj Mahal,
and we got a bit of sightseeing done while we were playing.
Amazing experience, it really was, you know,
sitting there, and you're having your lunch with all these different famous athletes from all over the world.
Kelly Holmes on one side of me, Tom Daley on the other side of me,
and there were so many people cheering for you.
They didn't even know who you were sometimes,
and they were still cheering for your achievements.
I'm studying psychology at University now, on for a 2:1, so it's a great thing for me to achieve.
[Arthritis Care has given Hannah and her family incredible support.]
Arthritis Care is such a supportive charity, you know.
Every aspect. I remember when we were younger they did activity days,
and we'd meet up with other young children with JIA
and just get talking to different people.
So basically Arthritis Care does, you know,
if you need anyone to talk to, you can ring them up on the help lines
and they're just there to listen to you and offer a bit of advice if there's anything you need,
and so, obviously, yeah, I know what it's like, but it gets better tomorrow.

[Hannah experienced a very rare sudden onset of JIA which, for her,
had a big impact on her life and mobility.
It is not the usual experience for the vast majority of children.
If you need someone to talk to or have questions ring 0808 8004050.]
